Hope’s Closet 4 Children

Hope’s Closet 4 Children provides gently-used clothing for children, age birth through 17. Sadly, many children may not attend school because they do not have appropriate clothes. Created to assist children who are disadvantaged due to family poverty or homelessness, the Closet allows clients to shop for free in a boutique-style setting.

Over 70 local social service agencies, including the St. Lucie County School District, refer Treasure Coast families who are able to select play clothes, new underwear, socks, and school uniforms. Each Wednesday (the only day the closet is open), between 15-20 volunteers will help clients shop and sort through the clothing donations.

Hope’s Closet has had tremendous community impact over the last five years. Our number of children served, as well as clothing items provided, has grown steadily. In three years, Hope’s Closet has provided over 200,000 items to over 1,000 families in need. In 2016, Hope’s Closet clothed over 2,000 children. Clothing donations are received from individuals, organizations, schools, and businesses in the spirit of collaboration.

There are some new requirements for clients shopping after their first visit. Please take a look at the updated requirements.
